Peter is an award-winning artist known for his expressive landscapes and figurative artworks.  His work explores the fleeting moments when sunlight transforms our surroundings, revealing hidden textures and subtle colours.  He loves painting plein air,surrounded by bush, sand or water.  Peter is an exhibiting member of the Royal Art Society of NSW, the Australian Marine Art Society and a member of the Drummoyne Art Society Committee.

In this hands‑on workshop you will discover how to capture the colour and movement of the Australian coastline.  You’ll learn to paint waves with confidence, understand coastal light, and incorporate figures into your scene.

This workshop is best suited to artists with some painting experience in either oil or acrylic.

Paints: (oil preferred, acrylic accepted)

·         Cadmium  scarlet (any high saturated warm red)

·         Alizarin  crimson

·         Burnt  sienna

·         Cadmium  yellow

·         Yellow  ochre

·         Ultramarine  blue

·         Cerulean  blue

·         Titanium  white or zinc white

·         Unbleached  titanium

·         Indian  yellow

Misc (general):

·          Palette knife

·          Palette

·          Easel,  box easel or similar

·          Lemon Yellow

·          Cobalt Blue

Brushes:

·          Flat, long-handled, varied sizes from  one with a fine tip to up to 15mm wide (size 10)

Canvases:

·          2 x  Stretched canvas or board – small to medium size (eg 9” x 12”, 8” x 16” or  10” x 15” etc)

Misc. For Oils:

·          Odourless  solvent (Gamsol)

·          Jar  for washing brushes during painting

·          Dipper

·          Rag

‍Misc: For Acrylic:

·          Water container

·          Wet palette and/or a slow drying  medium preferred to slow drying time)

·          Paper towels
